This pillow is truly the pinnacle of memory pillow experiences!

I had my last Tempur-Pedic pillow gifted to me back in 2005 and used it almost every night until I bought a new one only a few weeks ago. That's right, almost 20 years with one pillow! That's over 6,700 nights, over 45,000 hours of sleep. To think of all the dreams I've dreamt on a Tempur-Pedic pillow...

Over the years, I've faithfully kept it clean and protected in a variety of third-party protective pillow cases and, aside from the expected wear and tear of almost two decades, it's still in great shape. It has always been comfortable and I got great sleep on it until the last night I used it when I switched it out for a new one.

The pillow is both firm and soft in all the right areas, reacting to the pressure from your body to adjust and conform, gently cradling your head in almost any position. It's luxuriously soft while still being supportive, leaving no unnecessary strain on the neck or shoulders and never needing fluffing.

The contours of the pillow are perfect for all sleeping positions and can be flipped around and adjusted for optimal support. The material seems to never lose its resiliency and can be folded or bunched up like a normal pillow without really affecting the material, although the need to do that with these pillows is almost non-existent! For those who like a little more elevation when sleeping, the pillow can also easily be slipped into any pillow case with another plush pillow to provide a bit of a different experience.

The protective case that comes included removes easily for washing and the pillow material has no smell to "gas off" like other cheaper memory foam products, although care is required when washing the case to avoid damaging the protective lining. Although not necessary, to ensure the longevity of the pillow, I recommend using a cheap protective pillow case.

Besides the pillow, I also have a Tempur-Pedic office chair that I've been using for about 6 years and previously used a Tempur-Pedic bed as well. I trust the quality, durability, and comfort of these products, so replacing my old pillow with a new one was a no-brainer. With the same regular care and cleaning, I fully expect to be sleeping on this pillow well into the next 10 years, if not longer!

Buyer Beware, Do not purchase from TempurPedic. First of all, the advertising about how superior their mattresses are is just that, advertising. Second of all, take a few minutes to read my rather long review before you make any decision, it will be worth your time.

I bought one of their mattresses many years ago through a local store, and at a cost of around $3,000.00 I was looking forward to how much I would love it, and I trusted that it would stay comfortable for many years. Unfortunately it started sagging and softening rather quickly, after about a year of use. I was at that time rather thin, and I was the only person to use the mattress, so its rapid deterioration was no fault of my own.

My second and last experience with TempurPedic was less costly but just as disagreeable. I purchased one of their neck pillows thinking that it would help my neck and shoulders tension. Unfortunately after trying the pillow for about 5 minutes upon its receipt, I realized that it would be impossible to have a comfortable night sleep while using it. I therefore immediately started a return procedure, only to discover that TempurPedic does not accept any pillow to be returned! I am guilty of not checking their return policies before my purchase because, one more time, I fully trusted their company.

The infuriating thing is that the pillow is absolutely in pristine condition, having been used only for a 5 minutes trial while protected by a clean pillowcase. Meanwhile their return policy for their mattresses is a 90 days trial period, after which you can return the mattress if not fully satisfied! So, they will take back a used mattress that people have been rolling around on for three months, but not a perfectly clean pillow used for a few minutes! I shudder to think of those poor unsuspecting customers who purchase a TempurPedic mattress without realizing that it might have been used by someone else for three months! It is disgraceful and dishonest.

I will never trust that company again, I found out the hard way that they are despicable and totally untrustworthy.

I am a side sleeper. I like taller, firmer pillows, with good support so I thought this one would be a good fit. I measured myself according to the size chart, and my shoulder measurement was 7"-- so, side sleeper above 6", so I got the large. I received the package and lay down briefly on the pillow with the pillow still in the plastic packaging. I could tell it wasn't going to work, and wrote the company to inquire about a return because I hadn't opened the pillow packaging. They denied the request, citing they "are a zero waste company" (hard to understand given the pillow arrives wrapped in plastic). So even though I measured correctly and according to their chart I ordered the right size, the pillow was not a good fit and now I'm stuck with a very expensive pillow I really don't like. I would not recommend ordering online unless you have tried and sized the pillow first in person. Now to review the pillow:
For me sleeping on my side, the large bulge hits my jaw while the top of my head hits the depression in the pillow. This torques my head much further out of alignment than a regular pillow would, making my head cock to one side. The foam is firm enough that the large bulge doesn't collapse sufficiently to allow comfortable side sleeping posture. I'm a large male and have a regular size head for my body, so it's not like I have a tiny light head that can't push the foam down. Look at the profile of the pillow and imagine how that would be a good side sleeper support--the top of your head is going to tip down and push your head/spine out of alignment. Maybe you're a back sleeper, which is what this pillow is really meant for. How is your shoulder broadness going to predict the height of the large bulge that's going to work for your anatomy? That's more a factor of your neck length and how far forward you like your head to be while you sleep. Try this pillow in person first. Do not order from the website.

Why am I writing a review for a pillow? Because I feel cheated by Tempurpedic. My recent customer experience with them has been extremely disappointing. Yes, I bought this neck pillow and despite carefully measuring to their guidelines, the pillow turned out to be nothing like what I expected. It fails to provide adequate support for my neck and shoulders, making it extremely uncomfortable to use. It's really small and the firmness of the pillow is another major issue for me. It feels incredibly firm, almost like laying my head on a brick.

What truly heightened my disappointment was Tempurpedic's customer service and return policy. When I contacted them about my concerns and discomfort with the pillow, I was told that it couldn't be returned or exchanged. I wish they would have made it way more obvious that was the case with pillows before I bought it, otherwise, I would have thought about it twice before paying so much money for this pillow. Is the return policy on their page? YES IT IS. Did I see it? NO I DIDN'T...but...does anyone???? The reason given, as relayed by their "highest" customer service representative, was baffling-something about recycling concerns, which seems arbitrary and inconsistent given that they can recycle a giant mattress but not a small pillow...that comes with a removable AND washable cover....so so strange...

This experience has left me feeling undervalued and cheated as a customer. It's evident that Tempurpedic's priority lies more in maintaining their policies, than ensuring customer satisfaction. Their response to my concerns reflects a lack of commitment to their customers' well-being and a high commitment to absurd pillow policy. I am now out a high amount of money, but Tempurpedic continues without a care in the world about my issues...why would they? I already paid them.

I truly am deeply disappointed with both the Tempurpedic neck pillow and their customer service. I regret it so so much...I would advise against purchasing this product and would caution others against doing so unless they are certain it will meet their expectations. Tempurpedic's unwillingness to accommodate a dissatisfied customer like myself has tarnished my impression of their brand and has ensured that I will never purchase a single product from them ever again.
